PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 14.2 is now live on PC servers and will be available on console servers next week (November 11th).
With this update, players can now test out several new weapons, including the Taego-exclusive Mortar for interacting with enemies at range, and the M79, which launches smoke grenades that can be used to “blind” enemies. Also, chickens roam around in Taego and if you get too close they can attract enemies to your position. That’s why it may be helpful to stay away from them if you see them crossing the road.
Extended summary of Update 14.2
New Weapon – Mortar: The new Taego weapon, the Mortar, is easy to use in combat situations, but it may take a lot of practice to achieve adequate accuracy. First, players need to be able to calculate the target distance and the estimated course of movement. Skilled players can attack with it while defending certain areas or behind elevations where grenades cannot reach.
New Weapon – M79 Smoke Grenade Launcher: The new M79 is a smoke grenade launcher created to quickly shoot smoke screens at long ranges. Players can blind enemies, protect downed teammates, or bravely retreat from a losing skirmish!
New Feature – Collapsed Swimming: To increase players’ chances of surviving while submerged in water, the game supports Downed Float. Previously, a player who was knocked down while in the water would skip the knockdown phase and die immediately. For this reason, deep waters were a dangerous area to cross. Players can now enter the slow-swimming state “Knocked Down Swimming”, which allows them to swim ashore and be revived by their teammates.
