URGENT ECONOMIC PROJECT
On October 28, Lasso submitted to the National Assembly the bill for “Economic development and fiscal sustainability”, the first of three that he plans in his divided package of reforms that were rejected in September.
“It has been prepared by gathering the suggestions of various social and political sectors of the country,” the Presidency said in a statement at the time.
And he assured that the new legal reform complies “with the principles of progressivity and tax justice” and, after its approval, the Government expects to collect “more than 1,900 million dollars” in its first two years.
According to the Presidency, with the new fiscal plan, 96.6% of the economically active population will not be affected, given that “the main effort will fall on those who earn more than $ 5,000 a month, have a net worth greater than one million and the largest companies in the country “.
