Mexico City, Nov 1 (EFE) .- Mexico added 37,334 million dollars in remittances between January and September, an increase of 24.6% compared to the same period in 2020 after 4,403 million were received in the ninth month of the year of dollars.
The amount of remittances between January and last September was higher than the 29,965 million dollars of the same period of a year ago, the Bank of Mexico specified this Monday in its monthly report.
The average remittance between January and September was 374 dollars, 10.3% higher than in the same period of 2020 -when it was 339 dollars-, and the number of operations went from 88.34 million to 99.76 million.
Most of them were by electronic transfer.
This September, Mexico reported remittances for 4,403 million dollars, 23.3% more than in the same month a year ago.
The country has been registering amounts exceeding 4,000 million dollars per month for several months.
In March 2020, at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in the region, it also exceeded $ 4 billion, then marking a first record.
This substantial increase in remittances in the first nine months of 2021 continues the upward trend marked since March last year.
