The difficult situation continued until the day of the murder. Thus, in a video recorded by a camera installed over the front door of Hetle’s house and obtained On Fox 5 DC, the victim is seen approaching her neighbor’s home. Shortly after, the homeowner opens fire and shoot seven times in six seconds against Prather. After the shooting, the woman with the cash appears, but the attacker starts yelling at her and threatens her with a gun.
During the trial, Hetle claimed that he resorted to arms for fear for the safety of their own family and shot Prather in self-defense. However, the prosecuting party succeeded in showing that it was “murder in the first degree, which is murder with malice and murder with premeditation”.
Meanwhile, the court ruling in Hetle’s case is expected to be announced on January 28, 2022, when the prosecution plans to request life in prison for the criminal.
